Kari Chapin is my hero

For this post, we in library world have to find a video on youtube we love. How easy is that! I've just been reading this amazing book on how to make your own handmade business in the craft world- The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin. This book goes hand in hand with the course since it mentions how to use social media. Kari mentioned numerous youtube videos I wanted to watch, so I've spent my time wisely, sort of!! How easy it is to get lost in youtube world! But then an idea hit me - search "Kari Chapin"!! Low and behold i'm listening to my current favorite author talk! Fun stuff! So, now I'm hooked - i've become a youtube fanatic! I'm going to see how many of my crafty blogs i follow are linked to you tube - which is I am sure why youtube has become so popular! You read about things, but in a couple clicks, you can see even more!!
Follow this link to find out all about my current favorite author!!

  1. Ooo, totally addictive! My dream is to one day own a home with a room dedicated to crafts, like Martha Stewart... *sigh*... One day...

    Great job embedding, Coffee Shop!

  3. You have touched the tip of the iceberg, for sure! Looking at instructional videos is the main reason I visit YouTube - but there are so many other diversions once I get there! You'll discover that crafters are avid social network users.

  5. Thanks for the video and book suggestion. I checked BPL's catalogue and we don't own that title. You can always recommend that the library purchase it if you found it helpful as others will probably find it useful, too.

  6. Melissa -
this is the best book i've come across in ages!! it links up all the creative gurus in one book. Once you read the book, you'll find yourself spending hours researching all the contributors to the book. My mom bought me this book assuming we would both read it since we run a business together. I've never let her get her hands on this book - i can't let it out of my sight!
